We offer emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to women, girls aged 12 and over, and all members of the transgender community, who have experienced sexual violence at any times in their lives. This includes rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and other forms of sexual violence.
Over the last 33 years we have provided support to thousands of survivors of sexual violence in South East Scotland. We are often the first or only agency contacted by female survivors in the area. We also have an outreach support service in East Lothian: East Lothian Sexual Abuse Service.
The Star Project is for girls and young women aged 12 - 18 who have experienced sexual violence and offers one-to-one, phone, text and group support as well as art therapy.
Support can be provided through:
- our helpline (0131 556 9437)
- face-to-face sessions
- ongoing face-to-face sessions
- groups
- email (support@ewrasac.org.uk)
- advocacy and crisis appointments
We offer telephone and face-to-face support to those supporting a survivor, including workers in other agencies.
In 2009 we were one of thirty-five charities to be shortlisted for the Guardian Charity Awards 2009.
